Reforming Work Styles
To prevent excessive overtime, we are improving work efficiency by appropriately allocating human resources and using Information & Communications Technology (ICT). We also encourage employees to take paid leave systematically, grant various special leave such as birthday leave,encourage employees to leave work by 20:00 when working overtime, set a no overtime day, and so forth,to optimize employees’ working hours at the same time reforming their work styles.
Parental Leave, Reduction of Working Hours Duty (Next-Generation Development Support Measures)
ASB is promoting active participation by women in the workforce. We created a work environment that allows women employees to continue working after marriage and childbirth. (We currently have a 100% record of female employees taking parental leave and returning to work).
Even after their return to work, they are possible to balance work and family by taking advantage of reduced working hours. In recent years, some of our male employees also took parental leave to take care of their family members. Moving forward, we always encourage our both men and women employees to take parental leave
We support employees’ recreation activities such as the Fit Club, Bicycle Club, Photography Club, and Baseball Club.
To encourage active communication activities among employees, we provide a communication subsidy once every half year. We support good quality communication opportunities for employees during non-business hours such as farewell parties,and even during business hours like lunch gathering.
Cultivating Human Right Awareness
As a pioneer of the industry, it is a high priority for us to constantly create new values on actively embracing global employees and making use of mixed and diverse values in the workplace, regardless of nationality or age. Through vigorous communications and connections with our global employees, we strive to cultivate human rights awareness by understanding and respecting individual uniqueness and differences.
Women Employees’ Participation in Workplace
We have a great working environment especially for women where they can continue working with pleasure even after marriage and giving birth. We offer our valuable superwomen many benefits such as maternity leave, parental leave, and the encouragement of shorter working hours. Indeed, many of our female employees here are working happily and participating actively in varied departments, including management, sales, and engineering technology.
Reemployment System for Senior Employees
Generally, our employees’ retirement age is 60, but we have a re-employment system for those who desire it. Many of our employees chose to continue working passionately at ASB even after their retirement.
We provide level-specific training and management training to improve the skills, capabilities, and competence of each of our employees. What’s more, we also solidly encourage our employees to take part in external training or seminars that are useful in assisting the solving of critical operation tasks and for collecting the latest information about the industry.
Since our company is a global company with 90% of sales come from international customers, and 90% of the total number of employees (including our subsidiaries) are non-Japanese, English is a vital tool for global communications. We here in ASB are providing free English Classes for our employees who want to improve their English day by day.
Global Training System: Foreign Employees Training in Japan
To improve the capabilities, proficiencies, and efficiencies of employees at overseas’ subsidiaries, we consistently hold global training at Komoro Headquarters. The selected foreign employees from our subsidiaries will stay in Japan for about three months to study and practice ASB HQ’s manufacturing stlye, designing process, business management methods, and so on. After finishing their training here and returning to their organization, these foreign employees will practice the same inherited ASB-workstyle practicing locally. From this system, we could strengthen and maintain not only our ASB brand’s power but also the best quality of ASB-workstyle itself.
Global Training System: Sending Japanese Employees for Overseas Training
We provide our employees, especially the young engineers, with overseas training at our subsidiaries, mainly in India but also at other locations around the world. The selected young employees will learn about the local culture and market for about half a year. After returning to Japan, they will use their experience in manufacturing with greater global understanding.
Safety and Health Committee
A health and safety committee meet every month under the supervision of an industrial physician. The committee members selected from each department will check the employees’ overtime work performance and the working environment itself such as temperature, humidity at the workplace, air quality, illumination, and noise level. They also patrol each department to check for potential dangers. Undoubtedly, we are taking measures to secure a safer workplace and setting preventive measures against industrial accidents.
