Located in a region full of nature, we are working to protect the environment and prevent pollution with the aim of building a low-carbon, energy-saving, and recycling-oriented society that considers the natural environment.
Environmental Conservation Activities at the Chikumagawa Factory
Our Chikumagawa Factory strives to reduce energy consumption with the aim of using electricity ‘in the right amount at the right time’. In addition, we are working to reduce industrial waste liquid, including CO₂ reduction, to contribute to environmental conservation.
Efforts to Mitigate Climate Change by Saving Energy
- Adopting energy-saving infrastructure equipment
- Automatic start/stop of infrastructure equipment linked to production status and proper use of energy resources by capacity control
- Reduction of transformer no-load loss (suspension of power transmission on holidays)
- Exhaust heat reuse of air compressor
- Reduction of air conditioning energy by strengthening heat insulation
- Operation of energy-saving equipment through joint development with manufacturers
Carbon Dioxide Emission Model of Chikumagawa Factory (50% Reduction Compared to Conventional System)
Utilization of Natural Energy
- Reduces lighting power consumption by incorporating natural light from skylights during the day.
Protection of Water Supply
- Reduction of industrial waste liquid discharge by removing oil from circulating water and reusing it in the production process.
Environmental Review
- Conduct progress management through monthly environmental meetings and continuously promote environmental activities.
Collaboration with the Community
We support the eco-awareness activities led by industry groups or government agencies and we are actively working to build a sustainable society.
Plastics Smart Campaign
We participate in the “Plastic Smart” movement led by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment and support the efforts to reduce marine plastic waste.
- ASB is participating in Plastics Smart Campaign by promoting (Japanese only):
- 1. New environment-friendly technology that reduces the weight of PET bottles and reduces the amount of materials usage
- 2. Proposal of double layer molding to utilize increased quantities of recycled material
- 3. Molding bottles with 100% Bio PBS by using the stretch blow molding machine for the first time in the industry.
Shinshu (Nagano Pref.) Plastic Smart Campaign
We also participate in the Shinshu Plastics Smart Campaign in Nagano Prefecture and support the efforts to reduce marine plastic waste.
- Registered to Manufacturing and R&D category by providing the following initiatives:
- 1. Making containers using recycled PET
- 2. Zero Cooling system
- 3. Molding double layered containers
- 4. Molding biodegradable plastics, etc.
